Materials needed:
- Crochet thread (size 10 or 20)
- Crochet hook (size 1.5mm or 1.75mm)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Begin with a slip knot on your crochet hook.
- Make a chain of 8 stitches.
- Slip stitch into the first chain stitch to form a ring.
- Chain 5 stitches, this will count as your first double crochet and a chain-2 space.
- Double crochet into the center of the ring.
- Chain 2 stitches.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6, 7 more times for a total of 8 double crochet shells.
- Slip stitch into the third chain of the beginning chain-5 to join the round.
- Chain 3 stitches. This will count as your first double crochet in the next round.
- Double crochet into the next stitch.
- Chain 1 stitch.
- Double crochet into the next stitch, chain 1 stitch. Repeat from * to * until you reach the end of the round.
- Slip stitch into the third chain of the beginning chain-3 to join the round.
- Chain 5 stitches.
- Double crochet into the next chain-1 space.
- Chain 2 stitches.
- Double crochet into the next chain-1 space.
- Chain 2 stitches.
- Repeat steps 15-18, all the way around the circle.
- Slip stitch into the third chain of the beginning chain-5 to join the round.
- Chain 1 stitch.
- Single crochet into the same stitch.
- Chain 5 stitches, skip the next chain-2 space, single crochet into the next double crochet stitch. Repeat from * to * until you reach the end of the round.
- Slip stitch into the first single crochet to join the round.
- Cut the thread and weave in the ends with a tapestry needle.
